The Home Cauzid is situated in a fully renovated building with 2 levels, in the middle of a park with ornament and fruit trees (cherry, apricot, fig, plum and grape trees), as well as a place for farm animals (donkey, goat and sheep).
The home is meant in the first place to host elderly people in need and who cannot be taken in charge at home anymore.
The Home has a capacity of 80 places, including a unit (12 places) reserved for psycho dependant persons and two temporary accommodation places.
Tareas voluntarios residencia mayores
The volunteer will accompany the residents in the care centre and will contribute to the autonomy of the elderly people in the Home by creating social connections.
He will accompany the Home’s animator and the voluntary workers in their activities with sick and dependant people.
Several types of support of the elderly people will be proposed to the volunteer.
One of the most important aspects of the elderly people’s support is the preservation and the recreation of intergenerational links. In this context, the volunteer will give his time for regular conversation meetings, for walks in the park or for helping the elderly persons carrying their books or their documents.
Another aspect is the fight against loneliness. The volunteer will take care of the Home’s magazine; will propose cultural activities and recreational activities.

Working hours, days off, and holidays:
Week ends are usually free, and the volunteer also benefit from 2 days off per attended month.
Food, accomodation and local transports:
Requirements Fair level of French to ease the communication with the beneficiaries of the project.
Working times Max 35 hours per week, 2 days off per week and 2 min days holiday per month
Cómo solicitar este voluntariado residencia mayores
We will study carefully all application and selected candidates will be invite for Skype interview. The selection of volunteers will take place in the coming weeks.
For the selection of the volunteers we will need:
– Europass CV with picture (made in the last month) with skype name included
– Motivational letter, writing that your sending organisation will be “Building Bridges”. We ask all candidates to send a specific letter of motivation – why they want to volunteer with us rather than just a general EVS one. The volunteer is chosen according to his/her motivation and interest to the project and to the activities. It will be paid special attention to cover letters. Remember to write in the motivation letter that your sending institution is “Asociación Building Bridges”.
