Youthwork Center is searching for an active, initiative and courageous EVS volunteer who would carry out different activities for youngsters (mostly 7-15, but may be up to 26) and who could enrich and diversify a small community. Hiiumaa is a very beautiful and small island in Estonia with around 9000 people. The work will take place mostly in Kärdla, which is the capital of the island with 3000 habitants. Youthwork Centre includes three houses: Youth Houses and Counselling Service. The volunteer will work mostly in Kärdla and Kõrgessaare Youth Houses. The volunteer will start work from January 2017 and is expected to stay for 9-12 months.
will carry out language/culture course in his/hers mother tongue and socialize with youngsters in English to develop foreign language skills of both, volunteer and youth.
will carry out one hobby group for older youth (13-19) and one for smaller youth (7- 12). Subjects are optional.
will instruct the activities (x-box and wii games, boarding games, billiard, workshops etc) of the youth centre and play games with youngsters daily. Youth House expects volunteer, who has skills and will to involve both, boys and girls, in activities and contrive different activities. The mission of the volunteer is to help youngsters to use their spare time usefully, while being next to them and supervise them. The volunteer will attract them in different activities.

Volunteer will have activities occasionally outside the youth house too for example in local schools.
ACTIVITIES FOR THE VOLUNTEER
Description of the Role and Tasks of the Volunteer:
The participant works with youth aged 7-26. The participant will carry out Spanish language/culture club for older youth (13-19) in the organisation and a hobby groups (subjects are agreeable) for younger youth (7-12). Occasionally the participant must carry out different workshops (handicraft, dance, music, cooking etc.) and events according to youth’s interest and national holidays. Daily basis activities are active communication and playing with youth (games in x-box and wii game consoles, table soccer, pool, boarding games, rollerskating, playing music etc.). The participant must help the youth worker to carry out Social Club activities for NEET youth. The participant must take part in Estonian lessons twice a week, reflection meetings every week, team meetings every Monday and youth pass meetings scheduled by the organisation. The participant must socialize with youth in Estonian as much as possible and help them to practice their English skills if needed. The mission of the participant is to help youngsters to use their spare time usefully, while being next to them and supervise them.
The participant helps to promote healthy lifestyle, and help youth workers with their daily work. The participant will experience a leader role, gain experience in youth work, gain organisational and project involvement knowledge. Most of the activities are based on different project and some tasks will come according to support from different projects. The participant take orders from the youth workers or manager of Hiiumaa Youth Work Centre.

Building Bridges users and/or long term unemployed (proved by scanned document) will have preference to this volunteer service.
We will study carefully all application and selected candidates will be invite for Skype interview. The selection of volunteers will take place in the coming weeks.
For the selection of the volunteers we will need:
– CV with picture (made in the last month) with skype name included
– Motivational letter, writing that your sending organisation will be “Building Bridges”. We ask all candidates to send a specific letter of motivation – why they want to volunteer with us rather than just a general EVS one. The volunteer is chosen according to his/her motivation and interest to the project and to the activities. It will be paid special attention to cover letters.
