The Centre in the Thuringian State Chancellery is a well-known institution in the European political landscape of Thuringia which provides information on major European topics in accordance with the communication priorities of the EU.
The centre starts discussions and spreads the responses of citizens within the EU. The project team helps with information brochure and events and European political public relations, for all citizens in the state to gain an easy access to EU information and to offer them an opportunity to give and exchange their opinions about all areas of activity of the EU.

Erfurt is the capital of the Free State of Thuringia, with about 250,000 inhabitants. The city is located near Weimar (20 km) and Jena (37 km).The centre provides a room in a shared apartment that is located in close proximity to the centre. Volunteer is accommodated in a single room with kitchen facilities and equipment, necessary for 12 months-stay (bathroom, shower, etc.).The volunteer receives a pass functioning within transport area (Thoska Card). The volunteer may have provision himself/herself using the money for food which is given to the volunteer in the fixed amount regulated by contract.
training during the project
Volunteer will be involved in the main direct and organizational work of the EIC. After necessary training time, volunteer is involved in accomplishment of the following tasks: Assistance in
– preparation, implementation and follow-up of thematic events in the EIC and the State Chancellery (seminars, public events, Thuringian European Week, citizens consulting, Days of Europe at schools, Europe-related educational fairs, etc.)
– Assisting in organization of daily office operations in the EIC (phone calls, guest relations, internal communication, etc.)
Wir suchen eine junge Frau, die zwischen dem Nordkap und Sizilien bzw. zwischen dem Atlantik und dem Ural wohnt und gern ein Jahr als Europäische Freiwillige nach Erfurt in Deutschland kommen möchte. Wir erwarten Hören und Verstehen der Deutschen Sprache.Wir bieten als Beratungszentrum der öffentlichen Verwaltung einen Einblick in die Europapolitik und in die Regierungsarbeit. Die Freiwillige lernt durch Teilhabe die Vorbereitung und Durchführung von Informations- und Diskussionsveranstaltungen über Europafragen. How to apply
We will study carefully all application and selected candidates will be invite for Skype interview. The selection of volunteers will take place in the coming weeks.
For the selection of the volunteers we will need:
– Europass CV with picture (made in the last month) with skype name included
– Motivational letter, writing that your sending organisation will be “Building Bridges”. We ask all candidates to send a specific letter of motivation – why they want to volunteer with us rather than just a general EVS one. The volunteer is chosen according to his/her motivation and interest to the project and to the activities. It will be paid special attention to cover letters.
