Haltegriff, an Institution specialized in Youth Welfare, offers living and work training for young people with NEET-status (Not in Education, Employment or Training) aged 16 to 21, who for various reasons can`t live at home.
“Haltegriff” aims at encouraging young people regarding a long-term professional and personal independence. Emphasis is on knowledge transfer concerning skills that help stabilizing the young persons and thus, preparing them for a long-term integration into the labour market. Haltegriff provides job training/ coaching and living facilities for 16 young people. The job coaching team is 4 persons, the team in charge of all the living/ flat-sharing-offers comprises 7 persons. The team is formed of qualified people coming from different backgrounds (pedagogy, educational work, social work …).Group activities (hiking, climbing and outdoor days), but also individual support and crisis intervention help to provide young people with skills of any kind.

accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The volunteer will live in his/her own apartment. The host organisation will provide a monthly ticket for public transport for the district Bruck/Mürzzuschlag. If requested the volunteer can have a bike as well. The volunteer can have lunch and breakfast in the canteen of BBRZ, the volunteer will get canteen tickets for that. In addition to that the volunteer will receive food money for self supply.
Morever, the volunteer will be provided with a German Language Course.

training during the project

The volunteer will be supported by a task related mentor. This mentor will help the volunteer both concerning all task related issues during the project duration and to get part in the daily life of the organisation. Regular meetings between the volunteer and the mentor are provided. The coordinating organisation will take care about a private mentor for the volunteer. Most probably it will be an ex-evs volunteer from Styria. Moreover the EVS freetime team is supposed to organise an activities for all hosted EVS volunteers. On Arrival Training and Mid Term Training are organized by NA Austria

For the recruitment process it is important that the volunteer is interested in young people’s problems and wishes. A certain kind of maturity is necessary to be able to support the young people. We are not specified in gender. Furthermore he/she should like to communicate with young people, be outgoing and patient. Minimum age of 20 as you will work with a target group up to 21 years – Stable and grounded personality.

In addition to career guidance and training aiming at labour market integration we also provide consulting services at the transition from school to job or Youth Welfare. Emphasis is on knowledge transfer concerning skills and competencies that help stabilizing the young persons and thus, preparing them for a long-term integration into the labor market. Haltegriff provides job training/ coaching and living facilities for 16 young people.The job training takes place in our facilities in our Styrian headquater in Kapfenberg/Styria, accommodation is provided in a house (flat-sharing) about 2 km away.Within the job training we provide:- job orientation and/ or orientation toward further education- skills training (basic knowledge, key skills)- internal technical labor training (in office administration, wood and metal sector)- Internships in companies- Job Coaching and training activities – help with finding a job- learning supportGroup activities such as hiking, climbing and outdoor days, but also individual support and crisis intervention help to provide young people with personal and social skills.Additional, a broad range of psychotherapeutic support is offered for our clients.

Selection process

The selection procedure will be done by the teams of each host organisation. This should be done until 17 th of April 2018 at the latest.
+ Please note that only short listed candidates will be informed about the results of the selection procedure.

We will study carefully all application and selected candidates will be invite for Skype interview. The selection of volunteers will take place in the coming weeks.

For the selection of the volunteers we will need:

Europass CV with picture (made in the last month) with skype name included

Motivational letter, writing that your sending organisation will be “Building Bridges”. We ask all candidates to send a specific letter of motivation – why they want to volunteer with us rather than just a general EVS one. The volunteer is chosen according to his/her motivation and interest to the project and to the activities. It will be paid special attention to cover letters.
