is a charity who work with people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. We have two Erasmus+ (ESC) hosting projects in Belfast, Northern Ireland (UK) and seek 4 motivated volunteers in total. Depaul NI Stella Maris Project – a residential homeless Service for adults with alcohol addiction. Service users can consume alcohol on the premises under the ethos of Harm Reduction (working with the individual to reduce alcohol related harm). Service users may have mental and physical health problems as a result of their drinking. Depaul NI Homeless Families Project – Two residential Services for homeless families. Service users may have suffered from family breakup, domestic violence or displacement. Parents may be very young themselves and have little life experience. We require 4 patient volunteers to organised social involvement and activities in the projects. Activities may include games, arts & crafts, “life skills”, health promotion, or organizing trips.

Accommodation is provided. Selected volunteers will be housed together in a house close to services. Depaul NI will provide travel cards in order for volunteers to travel to and from their project. Depaul also will provide a weekly allowance of £65 (€72).

Depaul provides volunteers with Organisational Induction which includes Rights and Responsibilities of Volunteers, training in Depaul’s policy and procedures (Health and Safety, Confidentiality, Professional Boundaries, Lone Working, Risk Assessment etc). Selected volunteers will also be trained on planning successful activities and impact recording, as well as project specific training. There is also a lot of free training in Northern Ireland, which volunteers will be encouraged to attend. It also have a small budget or volunteer training with external agencies.
