The project to be held in Bitola, Macedonia, is funded by the Erasmus+ Programme and will bring together young people from 4 different countries working more with non-formal methods and giving them the most amazing time in their life.
Sobre el proyecto de Servicio Voluntariado Europeo en Macedonia
The main goal of the project is improving the knowledge of voluntaries and children in schools about environmental problems and how to deal with them. They will learn about the problems in nature, how humans destroy and pollutes the nature and how less and less natural resources remain in the world. They will develop their creativity and ability to create new things of already used materials.
This EVS will also help the volunteers to raise awareness among young people about how important it is to preserve the nature and to ensure that the waste is going to reach the right place.
The main objectives of the project are:
– Increasing the level of knowledge and environmental problems for 600 children during 8 months
– Developing creativity competences for 8 volunteers through the activities of upcycling
– Empowering youth to use the skills and competences gained through these activities in order to implement various ecological and environmental projects in their
communities, in order to solve ecological problems
– To raise awareness about environment trough outdoor activities
– To experience being in position of volunteers and raise awareness on personal, social and professional development during EVS activity
– To raise awareness on key competences and develop different methods for using them in practice within EVS projects

Lugar del Servicio Voluntariado Europeo en Macedonia
Bitola is with over 100 000 people, the second largest city of Macedonia. It is University city with several faculties and has great student population. The river Dragor streams right in the middle of the town and the divides the old Turkish town from the 18th century town. The latter managed to maintain its beautiful 18th- and 19th-century architecture. In the other part of town you will find nice Ottoman architecture in the form of mosques, covered markets and bath houses.
The main street of Bitola hosts a lot of opportunities to go out at night, to eat the local food and to watch the locals doing their daily activities. In summer there are
a lot of cultural festivals which host music and art. Above all, the multicultural city shows you a taste of orthodox, Muslim and roma tradition.
Thirty minutes’ walk southly is the impressive site of the ancient city of Heraclea Lyncestis. It was established in the 4th century BC, and has an excavated
amphitheatre, baths, basilicas and some impressive mosaics. The area is an object of religious tourism, also: The church St. Dimitrija, St maru, Monastir St
Jova Bigorski end many others Bitola lays in the valley of the biggest mountain of Macedonia: Pelister.
This old national park is a nice place to get away from all the fuss and to relax in a natural atmosphere. In summer a lot of people go there to cool down from the hot
temperatures in the valley and in winter a lot of people go there to ski and to enjoy the many nice resorts up mountain. The rare glacial mountain lakes are very
unique and wonderful to see. For the adventurous types hiking is no problem.
There are a lot of good trails that have bungalows along the way.
Alojamiento en Macedonia
House is located 50 m from the main pedestrian street in the city center.
Around the house there is market on 50m, bars and restaurant on 100m, public transport and other entertainment. The volunteers will be accommodated in 2 bad
rooms, shared kitchen, living room, toilet and beautiful garden. The house has WIFI, cable TV and fully equipped kitchen.

We have project for for:
that, like themes for art and culture, national heritage, health,and ect. We are 107 members in the organization and we have different profiles, like doctors, dentist, lawyers, economist, students from different university, most from Economy Faculty. Sfera is sending, hosting and coordinating organization within the EVS program.
¿Cómo llegar a Macedonia?
As you have already known Bitola is in the south of Macedonia 170 km from the capital, and just 15 km from Greek border.Our suggestion is you to choose the capital Skopje as landing airport as there is good connection with a bus and train to Bitola. Second option is Thessaloniki airport in Greece as it is 170 km from Bitola. As a third option is Sofia airport in Bulgaria which is 360 km from Bitola.
Bus from Skopje to Bitola you have daily 10 times and rail 4 times per day. Bus cost 10 euro returning ticket and train 13 euro returning ticket.
From Thessaloniki you have a buses to Florina, daily 6 times and cost 25 euro returning ticket, which is just 15 km to Macedonian border then we can arrange your transport with a bus to Bitola.
From Sofia you have every day busses to Bitola connection to Skopje 5 times and cost round trip 50 euro and 8 hours of traveling.After reaching Bitola we will pick you up from Bus or train station (they are in the same building) and bring you to the Hotel.
Proceso selección del Servicio Voluntariado Europeo en Macedonia
We will study carefully all application and selected candidates will be invite for Skype interview. The selection of volunteers will take place in the coming weeks.
For the selection of the volunteers we will need:
– Europass CV with picture (made in the last month)
– Motivational letter, writing that your sending organisation will be “Building Bridges”. We ask all candidates to send a specific letter of motivation – why they want to volunteer with us rather than just a general EVS one.
Remember to write in the motivation letter that your sending institution is “Asociación Building Bridges”.
