University is an international oriented higher education Institution that provides education as well as research, development and innovation within four areas: business, education/social studies, health and technology.
Approximately 19,000 full and part-time students are enrolled at University. It employs approximately 900 staff and lecturers. University’s main campus is in Aalborg and represents the third biggest city in Denmark but we also have a campus in Hjørring and a smaller one in Thisted. Being a regional education institution we service the northern part of Denmark.
University has 33 different higher education programmes, mainly professional bachelor programmes. Out of the 33 programmes, all being taught in Danish, 17 of them are also taught fully in English. On these programmes are 1300 international full time, full degree international students from 50 different countries.
Uni has long-standing links with business and industry, the public sector and professional organisations as our programmes are applied and rely on a reflective based practice learning model.
Uni has an international strategy that focus on providing all the graduates with a global mind-set. It means that all Uni students should be exposed to the world during their studies and obtain international experience both as internationalization at home as internationalization abroad; shorter periods of stays abroad, internships abroad or studies abroad at our approx. 100 international partner universities. Therefore, Uni has an Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE), assigned Erasmus+ consultant and coordinators, and a lot of experience with the Erasmus+ system in general – a system that has widely helped strengthen the international profile of our university through both in- and outgoing students and staff.
